"A Doo-Wop Holiday"
Friday, December 2, 2011
Our merry and bright celebration of the season was on Friday evening, Dec. 2. The location this year was a new one, the Martin Institute of Stonehill College. The concert again combined delightful pop tunes of the 50s and 60s with Yuletide classics.
Nancy Gustafson, Lia Macrina, Lynne Albanese and some surprise guests sang. Vincent Macrina (director of music education for the Brockton public schools) and the United Brass Quintet were the featured instrumentalists.
Doors opened at 6 p.m. for cocktails followed by a buffet dinner at 7, and the concert at 8.
